EMBERCRAFT occupies Vent 4 of the Eyjafjallajökull caldera, where the geothermal heat reaches 1150°C. Six glassblowers work in shifts, breathing life into molten obsidian. We don't use furnaces; we use the earth's breath. The "glory hole" is a natural vent, the annealing oven is a geothermal pool. A game is a vessel, and a vessel is a breath made solid.
A title begins as a gather of molten obsidian on the pontil. We blow, spin, and shape it with cherry wood blocks and wet newspaper. The interaction is the trapped steam, the win condition is the ring of the annealed glass. If it rings true, it ships. If it's dull, it goes back to the vent. The caldera decides the temperature; the glassblower decides the breath.
The atelier keeps one rule from the 1784 log: *the vessel must hold its breath longer than the blower*. The mark is a small pontil scar, polished to a shine. The earth provides the heat; the breath provides the shape. The steam provides the voice.
